"Andrea's coaching took me to a whole new level with my story. It was a good story, but now it is a great story that has a powerful impact. Her great questions and listening uncovered parts of the story that had always been there, but because I was so close to the story, I was missing them. I am so grateful for Andrea's talent in bringing out the best in me so I can better serve my audiences." Paula Shoup, Business Coach and Consultant |

Tell Your Story! How do you serve? Do you know an organization or person you'd like to acknowledge? Email me here. In this issue, I am tooting my own horn by sharing information on the newest way in which I am serving our community -- my Cabaret, Love Is Loud! I have this thing about love. Who doesn't, right? I think it is the most important, beautiful thing in the universe. I think it is really all that matters. I think that down deep, love is all we really want. So, no surprise when a couple of years ago I decided to speak about it. I put together a speech and delivered it at my Toastmasters club. The feedback I got was . . . lukewarm. In the words of one friend -- a southern woman who is an amazing watercolor artist and five-times married -- "it's just too big a subject to do it justice." Right around the same time, my then virtual assistant/saleswoman suggested I put together a show she could market using all my skills -- storytelling, singing, acting, speaking. So, I thought, wow, why not make the show about love? In preparation, I talked to the music director at the high school my son attended. I wanted to do my show there, and I thought it could be a fundraiser she could use. Her words to me: "Andrea, right now, you have nothing to offer me. But, I will help you put together your show, because I want to support you." So, over the next several months, she and I met at my office - the local Starbucks. I would bring my script and music, and she'd tear it apart. Together, we created Love Is Loud!, my one-woman show about love. Thank you, Denise! Specifically, it's about all the ways in which we, as humans, experience love. As children, as friends, as lovers, as parents. In Love Is Loud!, I combine the ridiculous with the sublime by sharing my own often humorous attempts to "get love" in my life. Through another wonderful, serendipitous moment, I connected with an old friend -- a nonprofit consultant -- who suggested I market it to the community as a gratitude event -- an opportunity for organizations to say thank you to all those people who support us. To say I love you for all you do. Wow, what an idea! Thank you, Herb. Fast forward -- I'm introducing Love Is Loud! This humorous, touching hour and 15 minute romp is now available. If there is something that wants to be born through you, let it. Remember these words from Martha Graham: "There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, because there is only one of you in all of time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will not exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly to the urges that motivate you." If you would like to know more about Love Is Loud! and how to retain us for your next event, please contact me at [email protected] or 602-769-3674.
