Announcing Culture Catalyst Consulting -- the latest and greatest offering from, well, me! I recently read an article in the Fast Company online magazine that validated all the things I'd been experiencing working with clients for the past (I don't really want to say how many) years, and that's this: "Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch." Okay, that might be a little strong, but culture is at least its equal. If your culture isn't aligned with your strategy -- if there are a few gaps, here and there -- then forgetaboutit! You're just not going to be as effective as you could be. True? Yes. I've spent the past few months pulling together my Culture Catalyst Consulting program to help your organization create alignment with your strategy, and I use stories to help get the job done. It's about breaking through silos, getting your folks on the same page and talking to each other, and getting them ready to share your story and the magnificent things you are up to with the world. If you'd like to learn more, email me at [email protected], or call me at 602-769-3674, and let's talk. I'd love to support you to be great! Tell Your Story! How do you serve? Do you know an organization or person you'd like to acknowledge? Email me here. In this issue, we are focusing on Free Arts of Arizona. The creative arts are a powerful way for children who have suffered the trauma of abuse, neglect or homelessness to express their innermost feelings. Healing abused and homeless children through artistic expression is the mission of Free Arts of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ. Free Arts holds these core values: Art heals, mentoring works, and every child matters. One of the programs Free Arts offers in support of these values is the Multicultural Arts Camp, or MAC. This program brings kids together from social service facilities across Maricopa County for a day camp. During MAC, the campers are exposed to a diversity of arts workshops led by professional teaching artists. While the children discover and express their inner talents, many of them also experience intense emotional and psychological breakthroughs. James, 15, shared, "I learned I have to be brave to speak up in front of others, and there are no mistakes in art." Jamie, 11, said, "I can be myself at MAC Camp." This year's MAC camps will take place June 4-8 for ages 14-17, and June 11-15 for ages 10-13. For more information about this program and others, click here to go to the Free Arts of Arizona website: http://www.freeartsaz.org/ |
