How do you serve? Do you know an organization or person you'd like to acknowledge? Email me here. In this issue, we are focusing on Jodi Floyd, local visionary and community supporter. Positive Music Paves the Way for Positive Changes Jodi Floyd is the visionary behind the Rubicon Cafe at the New Vision Center for Spiritual Living. She started the Cafe in January, 2010 when she relocated from Orlando, Fla. She always has been a tremendous supporter of artists and musicians, especially those who are dedicated to positive music and messages. Jodi says, "Music can bring our community together," and enjoys providing a venue to do this. The Rubicon Cafe features a selected artist the third Friday of every month. Along with the featured artist, Rubicon Cafe attendees enjoy up-and-coming local musicians who perform two songs each during the evening, creating an eclectic and ever-changing monthly event. Dinner or snacks are available on a love offering basis. This Friday's Rubicon features Andrea Beaulieu performing Love Is Loud! Local musicians also will be playing and appetizers will be available. Jodi also owns the upscale consignment shop, The Land of Ahh's, in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Land of Ahh's is an active partner with St. Vincent De Paul and its Fresh Perspectives program. Together, they find housing for homeless families and furnish them with unsold and donated items from the Land of Ahh's. With the motto, "No Place Like Home," the partners call the project an "extreme green home makeover" dedicated to making dreams come true for families in need.
