Reflections CD

Personal Reflections on Your Authentic Voice
At one time, my authentic voice was often speaking to me through poetry, which I wrote and later recorded on this CD. I have narrated these poems to a piece of music I hope you find soothing and inspiring. These are my favorites, and cover a number of different experiences in life.

Ah Ha! Zine July 2008

Welcome
After years of living life and conducting business using my Seven Practices to Find and Follow Your Authentic Voice®, at the urging of clients, family and friends, I decided to start sharing this information with others. I made this decision because my authentic voice told me to, and I've learned to listen to it and follow its guidance.

Your Authentic Voice is your highest level of creativity, your inner wisdom, your intuitive brilliance. It is that part of your intelligence that knows what to do and how to do it. When we learn how to access it and follow it on a regular basis, we become happier, more fulfilled, and as a result, more successful. We connect on a regular basis to our authentic self and experience the extraordinary - that vibrancy and sense of aliveness that come with living a truly authentic life.

This is the kind of information I share as a speaker, workshop leader and coach. I hope you find it invaluable in creating a life you treasure.

Enjoy,
Andrea

Finding peace of mind in a noisy world

We live in a very noisy world. This isn't news to you, I'm sure. With I-Phones, I-Pods, the Internet, Blackberries, 24-hour news, etc., is it any wonder many of us feel we want to cover our ears and escape?

This outside noise is coupled by the inside noise most of us experience on a regular basis. I'm referring to the ongoing mind chatter -- the constant thinking, analyzing, comparing, or dwelling on people or events.

With all this, is it any wonder many of us feel stressed out by life and want to "get away from it all?" Many people try to disconnect from all this noise by distracting themselves or zoning out through continually listening to music through a headset, maybe drinking a little too much wine, watching too much TV, or eating a little too much food, for example. However, these don't really work, at least not for very long. All they do is disconnect you from yourself, and often from other people. They rob you of the intimacy and richness that is available in each experience because they take you out of the present moment, and away from your authentic self and the creativity available to you through Your Authentic Voice. So, instead of distraction and zoning out, here are a couple of other ideas to try.

To relieve the stress of noise:

  1. Remove yourself. Turn off your cell phone, the TV, the radio and the computer. Sit in silence for a while. Let yourself get comfortable with being quiet. Let yourself "be" instead of "do."

  2. Become an observer of the situation - the people, the colors, the sounds. Think of it as you would a play you are watching. Pretend you have never experienced this before and see what you notice and how you feel.

  3. Focus intently on the person you are with, or the activity you are doing. Move into the experience. Give it your full attention.

When you try these ideas . . .

Any of these options will help you move into the present moment where you get to experience the real stuff of life - the beauty, the creativity, the joy. What you'll notice is:

  • How this moment is really saturated with "stillness." Underneath all the noise, there is a palpable feeling of quiet and stillness.
  • How calm and peaceful you feel when you are in that moment instead of trying to distract yourself or zone out.
  • That time seems to slow down. We think life goes so fast, but in reality, it's because we're not really "there" to experience it. When we're in that moment, time seems to slow down, and even stop. In fact, time just seems to go away altogether.

Give yourself the gift of turning down the noise and living in the moment. Peace of mind is there waiting for you. Life is amazing. Take the "time" to notice it.
